Convincing the parentals is a hard task!

Hey everyone! Ok, so I'm sitting here watching my Spurs play, and I decided to talk to my mom about an important issue (well to me at least). So here's how it went down.

Mom, I said, you know how you always said that I should always persue my dreams no matter what obstacles stood in my way? My mother replied "Yes". I then said, "Well, you could help me out with this one dream I have." Hesitantly my mother said, "..and what dream would that be?" Giggling, I said, "Well you could send me to New York during June, preferablly from the 5th through at least the 7th." She just kinda laughed at me. Then she noticed I was serious. So she continued, "what dream could you possibly have in New York?!"

I then said "Well...there is this certain event happening at Barnes and Nobles, and well the possiblity of this author coming anywhere near Plainview, mom is well...slim to none, and I'd really like to get this author to sign a book."

My mom knows me way too well, she said "Is this certain author ANDERSON COOPER?!" (teasingly) She then said, "well, keep on dreaming. If you start walking you may be able to make it!" So my first attempt was a failure, so I said to myself, I'll just ask Daddy!

So my dad walks into the room, and I said "DADDY!!!" He immediatley said "no" I was like DE....NIED! I continued with "but it would be the best birthday present I could ever get!!! I just want to take a trip!!!" They just continued to laugh at me, they just dont understand the affect Anderson Cooper has on certain individuals like myself...

So now my dreams are shattered on the floor....ok that was just a little over dramatic lol. All hope is NOT lost! Maybe I can convince them to just let me go on my own, if I can pay my own way!!! *Crosses fingers*

CONGRATS TO Briana

I just wanted to give a shout out to Briana and congratulate her for reaching the highest point any Anderfan can reach (realistically speaking)-Meeting Anderson IN THE FLESH!!!! Whoowee girl I think I would have been flippin' out and so on cloud 9 after that!!

Man, Anderson really needs to visit somewhere driving distance from me! I would so travel to meet him!!! Hmm lets see I have family in San Angelo (that would still be kinda hard seeing as how San Angelo is almost 4 hours away), but there are 2 somewhat larger cities close by. One being 45 mins, and the other almost an hour. So if any CNN people are lurking in the darkness, checking out random blogs, suggest Mr. Anderson make a stop in Amarillo or Lubbock Texas OR shoot he could come to Plainview and see our fiberglass cows, and check out Wayland Baptist University! For me please??? It's not like im a psychopathic stalker or anything, just a huge fan :D If that fails just send Mr. Cooper to Russia for the Victory Day Celebrations in May! That would make my trip!!

Anywho...enough with my Anderhopes. Take care!!

Thanks Bri for the great pics!!!

Anderson and Massages?!

Hey everyone! The image to left is my newest Andernation promotion banner! Feel free to use it to promote the blog. Speaking of blogs, Anderson posted on his blog as well!

So I'm sitting here elevating my leg after working out (I actually ran for the first time since December, and whoowee I definately need to get back into shape!!!) Anyways, I was talking to my friend Codeh, and he asked me: Do you need a massage type person? I wonder if Anderson gives good massages. C'mon if Anderson was giving me a massage, even if it was terrible, it would probably be the best in the world to me!

I think this fits us all.....

Thank you nyc19671974 over at Anderholics for posting this.

"So last night I was watching the segment on Alcoholism with Dr.Gupta. As I watched my husband said to me. "You are an Anderholic?" He has never been to this site by the way. Anyway I lauged becasue when Dr. Gupta talked about CAGE, my husband confired it. Here is my CAGE criteria when it comes to my Anderson...

CAGE criteria when it comes to my Anderson...
They were called the CAGE criteria. C stood for, does a person try to cut down on their AC360? Do they become annoyed when people tell them to cut down on their AC360? Do they feel guilty about watching AC360 and visiting AC blogs all day at work? Or do they use AC as an eye opener? And that is the CAGE phenomenon.

Just thought this would make everyone here either laugh or finally deal with the problem at hand..."

EXTREMELY OFF TOPIC!

Hey everyone! I've really been struggling with this issue, I can't decide on which shoes I like the most. I like them all, but I'm leaning toward one the most. Which would YOU choose. Seriously, I want to know!!! lol

AC live from US/Mexican border on Wed.

From CNN PressRoom

Amid Tri-Lateral Summit in Mexico, Cooper Visits with U.S. Border
Patrol Based in Nogales, Ariz.

CNN's Anderson Cooper and Anderson Cooper 360° broadcasts from
Nogales, Ariz., on Wednesday, March 29, to report live from the base
of the most active border patrol operation in the United States.
Border patrol officers from that location stopped as many as 1,000
illegal immigrants on Monday, March 27, alone.

The broadcast airs on the first day of a three-nation summit in
Cancun, Mexico, where U.S. President George W. Bush, Mexican
President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper
will meet to discuss immigration, trade and border control.

Cooper and his program have contributed to CNN's leading coverage on
U.S. border issues. Last February, Cooper broadcast live from one
of the largest smuggling tunnels discovered along the U.S.-Mexico
border.

Ok Anderfans, here's the scoop on the newest Coop site! You are now able to view it using Firefox *sigh of relief*

Last nights show was very good. I really needed a good pick-me-upper, and what do you know AC came through!! I think he has to know how us Anderfans love the "mmmm ___" because he's always doing it!!! "MMMM chocolate" which is still my all time favorite inspiration for an image and icon (with "I think I like the naughty chair" running very close behind!!) and who could forget, "mmmm heartburn" or "mmmm spice" I just love the "mmmm
s" and I'm thinking "mmm Anderson...." *puts head down and heads for the naughty chair*

The above image was made by me, feel free to snag it if you want :D

Thoughts on the new Andersite, and some random stuff as well!

Well today has been a pretty good day, well it got better after I got some decent sleep! Today has been a pretty Anderless day, nothing too exciting going on. I've been spending a lot of time at the new Andersite. I really like it, tons of great Anderlinks, and Andergames, and well...just tons of Anderson! So if you haven't checked it out, go NOW!!!!

My random offtopic post of the day is that I hate work! AGH! I mean it sucks because I've been there for almost 3 years and really needed certain days off this week, and what do you know! I have to work on the days I needed off, another girl that has only been there a couple of months has been getting more days than me, and also got the days off she needed! It just ticks me off! My physical therapy is going great, today he put me on the slide board, which is very very slick!!! You basically just slide back and forth as if you were a speed skater, it was very hard at first but I got the hang of it! I'm going to try running today to see how my knee holds up, just to see what I'll be able to do on Saturday at JV basketball tryouts! I hope we have a good turnout this year!

New Anderfan Site!!!!

FUNHOUSE GRAND OPENING!
There is a new Anderson fansite opening today that has something for every Anderfan. There are CNN/Anderson related crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles of your favorite anchor, quizzes, a snarky eight ball and so much more. This site has forums for chatting about everything from current news events to celebrity gossip and of course the occasional mention of Mr. Cooper! There are links to blogs (add yours, if you have one) video clips and AC pictures galore. Anderson's Funhouse also has a monthly calendar, maintained by the master researcher Quitman, to keep us up to date on all Anderson's scheduled appearances. It even tracks those haircuts that we all love to hate! All this and so much more. Did I mention the best part, besides the fact that it is dedicated to Anderson Cooper? It's free! So come and join in the fun, don't be shy, we want to get to know you. Thanks to Phebe for lending me her blog entry ;)

Link to Anderson's Funhouse:

(this link is also located in the link section to the right!!!) So what are you waiting for, check it out! BTW, I recommend that you use IE as your browser, I dont think it's firefox friendly, because I couldn't view anything while using it.

Tonight's 360, Cooper Wall of Fame, and My Own

Hey gang! Well today has been a pretty good day, pretty easy.

Tonight's 360:
Your tax dollars used to build a jail that sits empty. Other jails are so overcrowded criminals are being let go. Where it's happening. Tune in at 10 p.m. ET. BTW, I will be unable to watch the show tonight, so make sure to keep me posted if anything exciting happens!!

Well today's Anderthought was sparked by Codeh. I was tellin him about my new project in my bedroom, my San Antonio Spurs wall to go with my Movie Poster wall. Teasingly, yet seriously, he proposed that I should start a Coop wall...The "Coop Wall of Fame"...I laughed, thinking about how my parents would think I'm way crazier than I already am with my love for AC. I mean, if Coop were to put out more picture in magazines, and start a poster project...sure it would be a huge help, but to have to print out all the pictures of Anderson...now that is just costly! I mean, sheesh I have sooo many pictures, but not enough paper and ink lol. Hmm, but if I were to do that...I could always convince MTV to make an exception to the MY OWN themes, why have my own pop star, when I could have my own Anderson Cooper?!

Here are two colages for you to enjoy!

Both made by Me

***Yay for 1,000 + Visitors***

Thursday, March 23, 2006

Hey gang! So how about 360 this week! It's been full of great shows this week, full of snarky Anderson too. I just had one problem, with the top 10 dreams. Why wasn't dreaming of Anderson number 1?! I mean c'mon who wouldn't love to see that gun-metal gray haired, blue eyed, cutie in their dreams? It's one thing to look adorable on tv, then look adorable in our dreams, but to look so darn cute sleeping is just beyond me!

Awww!

Physical therapy, Ice, and Anderson....

Ok, so I'm trying to keep up with blogging daily. So here's my somewhat on topic/random post for the day!!!

I just got home from physical therapy (fun fun) and I'm FREEZING. It's so cold here, and I'm sitting here with a bag of ice on my knee haha. Well I ended up dropping my class, and yeah I feel like a failure, but I've gotten some great advice, I can't sit here and reflect on what happened in that class, I just need to work harder the second time around!! Gotta keep looking forward!

I thought of Anderson while I was at physical therapy lol. He really should get into sports. I'm not saying he needs to become an athlete, but he needs to at least have some favorite sports team, that would just complete his "well-roundedness". I'm pretty sure I could convince him to be a Spurs fan all the way in NY, now if only I could get to NY......

Last night show was pretty good, I'm glad we are seeing the more snarky Anderson. I love snarky Anderson, shoot I just LOVE Anderson haha.

OT--Dr. Sanjay Gupta Talks about Sleep

"I usually sleep no more than five or six hours a night. Between my jobs as a neurosurgeon, CNN medical correspondent, TIME contributor and new daddy, that's all I can afford. And frankly, it always seemed like enough.

Sure, I might get a little tired by mid-afternoon, and I know that experts recommend eight hours. But you can get a lot done in those extra two or three hours, especially when the rest of the world (not to mention the baby) is asleep. So when my CNN producers and I decided to put together a series of stories on sleep, it seemed a good opportunity to figure out just how much I really need.

For six months, we crisscrossed the country, interviewing sleep experts, getting tested in sleep labs and even flying a 747 simulator after being awake for 30 hours. I got my first clue that I might be more sleep deprived than I thought in a lab run by Robert Stickgold, a cognitive neuroscientist at Harvard Medical School.

I was wired with electrodes all over my head (including my eyelids) and two cameras recorded my every move. Everybody figured that with all the distractions, I would have trouble sleeping. As it happens, I was out almost immediately -- faster, according to the researchers, than anybody they had ever studied. It has given me new insight into my wife's complaint that I'm often asleep before my head hits the pillow.

I was sleep deprived. So what? Still confident that there was nothing wrong with my ability to function at full capacity, I flew to San Francisco, where NASA's Ames Research Center keeps a full-size virtual-motion simulator of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet. It's the next best thing to really flying. After a few hours of training and several takeoffs and landings, I had mastered the 747 -- or so I thought.

My assignment was to stay awake to the point of sleep deprivation and then try to fly again. After being awake for 30 hours, I felt more exhausted than I could ever remember. Then I was back in the cockpit. Remarkably, all those simple landing sequences were suddenly much harder to remember. Just keeping the nose of the plane level was a real challenge. Had I been flying a real 747, my passengers would have had a very bumpy ride.

My experience, I learned, is hardly unique.

If you have been up for more than 20 hours, your reflexes are roughly comparable to those of someone with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08, which in many states is enough to be considered legally drunk. You should not drive, and you most certainly should not fly a plane, in that condition. Moreover, the effects add up. Sleeping only six hours a night for a week makes you as tired on the seventh night as if you had had no sleep at all.

Having seen firsthand what sleep deprivation can do, I'm now making a conscious effort to get more shut-eye. I still don't know why we sleep in the first place, but I have a much better feel for what happens if we don't."

Who wouldn't want to sit in that lap?!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Another OT post to conclude our Anderless Weekend!

What am I going to do with my life.....

Ok, so I've done a lot of thinking over the break, and I'm stuck. I dont know what I'm doing with my life, besides living. School is okay, one class is really kicking my butt! I really need to think about my GPA, and for scholarship reasons I may end up dropping the class ( I know, I know, it seems really late to do that, but I refuse to settle for a C, which I think is the only thing I can pull off now) So, looks like I'm going to have a little chat with my advisor, who happens to by my prof in that class. Biology has ALWAYS been my strong subject, and now it looks like I'm doing way better in chemistry, with anatomy being my only biology class that I'm doing good in this semester. Stats, is going ok, I could be doing alot better, but I'm not worried about that class.

Ok, so if I pull out of this class, it would look alot better than getting a low grade, right? I will end up retaking it anyways, so I can maintain my GPA and get the needed financial assistance, and everything will be okay...right?! Man, I am so confused with everything right now!!! On a side note, I went to church for the first time in a LONG time, and it really felt good, I know I need God more than ever right now, and it made me feel good inside to know that even though I haven't been walking the right path, that he does forgive me and loves me either way. So, if you have any advice, inspirational quotes, caring words, or anything to lift me up right now that would be so awesome!!

Thanks everyone!! Take care and God Bless

Extremely Off topic, I just had to let it out though...

Ok, so this past Thursday I had an appointment with my orthopedic surgeon for my knee. Well he basically told me that it wasn't too serious (serious as in requiring surgery), prescribed 2 weeks of physical therapy and said light activity would be fine. So I have a knee strap that is supposed to help me out, and well my sister asked me to help her with her basketball fundamentals, which I agreed to (reminding myself to take it easy) Well I found out the hard way that the only "light activity" I'll be doing is during physical therapy. I didn't even jump, it was more like a hop, but man when I landed...whooooweeee SHARP pain in my knee. Dang! I just hope that physical therapy will make a world of difference, and I'll be able to play in the fall. I really have a lot to think about when it comes to playing basketball.....

YOU too can help keep them Honest!!!!

Fellow Anderfans:

In the final days of the second 12 days of Keeping Them Honest, the campaign is pleading for your help. Keeping Them Honest Campain

Join in our united effort to speak out on behalf of Katrina Victims. Let our elected officials know that we want them to live up to their promises, give help and representation where it is needed, and to accept the responsibilities of the jobs that we hired them to do.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” - Edmund Burke

The only “politics” involved in this effort is the politics of compassion and honesty! This is a non-partisan effort! The sole purpose of this campaign is to encourage people to speak up, speak out, hold elected officials accountable and motivate them to take action.
