It was an experience I will never forget. Some of you have seen pictures of these parades, but they don't really capture the emotion of the moment. Tens of thousands of people line the parade route. Many haven't seen each other since Hurricane Katrina. They are young and old, black and white, a sea of smiles.

I found it impossible not to keep smiling myself, and after a few hours my face literally hurt from smiling.

Awww he's just too cute!!!

Tonight's 360

OMG! In the Keeping Them Honest segment, Susan Roesgen reported how many FEMA trailers may have to be destroyed because they are sinking them in the mud. 300 Million Dollar literally down the drain. This just makes me so mad! "They were rude to you, which I don't like" AC told Susan. Sheesh, we can't even take care of our own people, yet we can jump the gun to help other countries.......I'm not going to turn this into a political debate against the government, but c'mon! FEMA get it together!!!!!!

Tonigh's 360

Tonight's 360 was live from New Orleans, and what a show it was! It's was just great! I'm glad AC is so dedicated to this story; the people of New Orleans deserve more support and deserve answers. AC is on their side, what could be better? (besides getting everything that they need of course)

Today's AC 360 Blog

I don't mean to get preachy, but...
I'm heading to New Orleans today. We will broadcast from there Friday night.

As you know, I am personally very committed to making sure that what has happened and continues to happen in Louisiana and Mississippi does not get forgotten. In this day and age, with so much information and such short attention spans, it's easy to just move on to other subjects, other stories. Anyway, I'm not going to get all preachy about it, but I think we owe it to those who perished in the Gulf and those who survived to keep the focus on recovery, rebuilding and rememberence. Unless we study the mistakes, unless we hold public officials accountable for their words and actions, we will repeat the same mistakes.

Few politicians have acknowledged specific mistakes. Many have blamed others or issued vague, general mea culpas, but that's always easier, isn't it? OK, so I'm getting preachy. I'll stop. See you in New Orleans.

Haha, it's okay to be preachy! I mean sheesh someone needs to step up and do something, and if takes getting "preachy" more power to Anderson!

Tonight's 360

Hmmm, was it just me or was tonight's show strange? It just didn't feel the same, kinda like it was dragging. It's not that I didn't enjoy the stories or anything, it just seemed like AC was trying a little too hard or something. He wasn't his usual, snarkful, funny yet serious self.

"So, I'm on the air right now, blogging in commercial breaks. I'm liking this whole blogging thing." Haha, looks like our AC is addicted to blogging too. I'm really enjoying his blogs, especially when Dr. Gupta contributes. I'm also liking the fact that he seems so casual on the blogs, makes it seem like he's just one of us ya know?

Anywho, I'm really interested in reading what you all think of each night's 360!!

AC 360 Blog. I want to know what you think as well!

Would you donate your face?

Hope you all had a good weekend. I spent most of mine in a self-imposed news blackout. I'm finishing up a book I've been writing, and am already past my deadline.

We had our morning editorial call early today, and there was a lot of discussion about the French face transplant recipient. I get pretty squeamish watching surgeries, but I find this procedure fascinating. The fact that once you have the transplant you won't look quite like yourself, but you also won't look like the person whose skin you're getting, raises some provocative issues.

For example, if this surgery becomes more common, all of us are going to be confronted with the question: Would you be willing to donate your face when you die? It's an interesting question. Several people in our office who are organ donors weren't sure they'd be willing to go that far. I'm not sure how I feel. Logically, it's no different than donating an organ, right? Nevertheless, I find it tough to think about.

I'd be interested to read some of your thoughts.

"...never forget the people..."

Image hosting by Photobucket

We always hear that Anderson is a "new breed" of reporters, and I really think the above quote is proof to that statement. In conjunction with the quote (which is my absolute favorite quote from AC) his coverage on Hurricane Katrina also justifies the statement as well.

I'm pretty sure mostly everyone has seen his Niger story, and what an amazing story that is. It's so heartbreaking, and real, and always brings tears to my eyes. It's often hard to contemplate the realism of children starving, and dying from malnution. I wish there was more I could personally do, but then reality does set in. I'm just one person. You are just one person. BUT we are more than that! If we all came together and reached out to help those in need, what a difference we could make.

I'm a proud sponsor of a beautiful 7 year old girl from Lesotho, South Africa. What a blessing she has been to my life, and she probably doesn't even realize it. I've been sponoring her for 9 months and I just get this feeling of joy deep down inside everytime I give my donation. I recently recieved a letter from my child's mother, and of Libuseng's writings; I was very happy to have gotten a letter it really did brighten up my day.

My sponsorship is in conjunction with the non profit organization World Vision. I just pray that people will be led to partner up with us, and shed some hope for the children that have basically nothing. Please visit their homepage, I'm not asking you to immediately sponsor a child, but I'm just wanting to get the word out, and hopefully one person will be touched by the work that World Vision is doing, and will want to sponsor a child.

The Million Dollar Question

I'm pretty sure everyone has asked the question "When does Anderson sleep?" I know I have, plenty of times! It's one thing to be a news anchor, but to zoom around the country, and the world as much as he does is just amazing!

Gawker Discovers the Anderwhip

Haha, wow what do you know! Gawker has discovered the "Anderwhip" I personally like the clip, which justifies why I would post it on YouTube for all Anderfans to enjoy!

Gawker Article (as seen as www.gawker.com)

"The Internet Delivers Your Anderson Fantasies
OK, so we admit it: We sometimes fantasize about our beloved Anderson Cooper, the sexily sanctimonious silver fox of CNN. (Shutup. You do, too.) Recently weve found ourselves taking those fantasies in a leather-daddy direction, and, dagnabit, we realizedsome visual aids would come in handy. What we'd really love is, say,a video clip of A-Coop dressed in leather and brandishing a whip, perhaps lording it over a short, nebbishy man. O, Internet, can youuse your magical powers to deliver this to us?
Thanks, Internet! Youre the best!

Should I be honored? LOL I was more amused than anything. After reading this I took a double take at "Anderholics YouTube" started to laugh, only to get these strange looks from my family. LOL
