Plumpynut and live blog

If anyone missed Sunday's 60 Minutes, Coop's piece on Plumpynut ran again. I've seen this piece when it first aired, and it moved me to tears. If anyone has any screen caps from this segment, I'd love to see them. I am horrible at getting screen caps of anything.

I am also glad to see that I am not the only one annoyed by the silly posts on the live blog.

Easter Ander-Appearence!

Happy Easter, everyone.

Did y'all catch Coop's report on soccer and David Beckham tonight? Becks in nice-looking for sure, but Coop has his own ethereal beauty. Coop's nose keeps him rugged-looking enough to be handsome rather than too " pretty".

Journalisticly speaking, it was a great piece. Normally I do not view 60 Minutes unless I know Coop is gonna have a piece air on the show.

Gosh, I wish I could take good screencaps, it was a great segment! I shall hopefully have one or two to post tomorrow. Haha one can tell that Anderson isn't much of a sports fan.

Chris wrote about Coop's hands and that one segment he did attempting to cook on Regis and Kelly. Yeah, clearly Coop doesn't do much cooking, but at least he was not squeamish about touching raw meat.

AC in Cali!

As usual , another excellent report by AC. Here is the promised screencap from last night's 60 Minutes segment. I am NOT a fan of ^0 Minutes at all, but I do watch Anderson's segments.

I do hope and pray that the " bakery mafia" don't come after our Mr Cooper since be covered this story! That iss scary stuff! Apparently the Oakland police are totally inept when dealing with these Muslim extremists( How they can ignore Muslim extremists in this day and age baffles me. Clearly these sorts of people are threats to our national security, but I won't chase that rabbit hole now.

Regarding Erica, I agree with the folks who say that AC does not need a co-host. Sure the banter is lighthearted, but so far all Erica has been doing is what she did from Atlanta! Having her in the studio thus far has not added to the quality of the broadcast. As someone who works in the field, I was hoping that we'd see Erica do more than just read from a Tele-Prompter. But of course this is just my professional opinion. I know a lot of you all like the Ander-Erica banter, but in my opinion since she arrived in NYC its gone from lighthearted to downright ridiculous!

AC to be on 60 Minutes this Sunday!

Coop has another segment for 60 Minutes this Sunday evening. Make sure you watch. I shall try to have a good screen cap from the program on Monday.

By the way, Erica Hill did MUCH better last night, in my opinion,. No silly stuff.

Congo Report

If you all have not seen it, it was excellent. AC is really at his best when he is in the field. I felt so badly for those poor gorillas and I am glad to see that the rangers are doing as much as they can to protect this beautiful species.
Anderson always brings stories that are either totally underreported or completely ignored. This is one of the reasons why I am such a big fan of him and his work. Journalists in general have a bad rap, but it is those such as Anderson Cooper who give new light and hope to the profession.

60 Minutes tomorrow

Anderson's report for 60 Minutes on the Congo will air tomorrow following the football game. I don't know about you all, but I am very much looking forward to this segment. I love his reports from the far corners of the world. In this trained journalist's opinion, Anderson and Christiane Amanpour are two of the best field reporters in the business.

Last Night's 60 Minutes

All I can say is....WOW! Anderson 's trademark integrity always impresses me, but I had tears in my eyes at the end of his segment. Plus, I learned a lot. For instance, I did not know that there is a marked difference between " minimally-conscious people " and those who are in a " persistant vegetative state". And Ambien, a very common sleep aid, who would have guessed that it could bring someone back from a state of low consciousness. It never fails to amaze me what medical science can do.
Anderson appeared to LISTEN to the folks he interviews, and this is what sets him apart from most mainstream television journalists. I usually do not watch 60 Minutes unless he has a segment OR the topic is of interest to me. This time both criteria applied.

*EDIT ADDED BY RITA*
If you missed the broadcast, you can find a segment that 60 minutes have posted on their website HERE The segment is about 12 and 1/2 minutes.

60 Minutes Tonight!

Hey Anderfans.....don't forget to view 60 minutes this evening. Anderson has a piece. I am not sure when his report from the Congo will air, but reliable sources tell me that it most-likely will air early in 2008. I am really looking forward to viewing this particular segment.
I love Anderson's field reporting. In my opinion, field reporting is what he does best. Don't mistake me, I also love watching 360 live in his NYC studio, but at the same time there is nothing we journalist types love more than reporting from the field. He was amazing during the " Katrina" coverage. One of my favorite Andermoments was when he was taking that senator to task for blabbering about how" thankful" she was to all her politician friends.
He is an excellent writer and I, too, wish he would contribute more to the written form of journalism.
So, what are some of your favorite Anderson Cooper moments?
