No Anderson tonight

I've been cranky and whiney all week, but with Anderson absent 360 tonight, I'm even worse. So I will spare you my foul mood and go straight to a yummy picture of our "boo". I also converted it into a puzzle. Enjoy!

Picture of the Week 05/18/2008

Time again for the Ander-picture of the Week. I don't where this picture came from but it is really cool. It just shows that no matter where on earth, what ethnic group, or what the style of clothing; he's still sexy and breathtakingly handsome. I believe the french word is "seduisant"! He is definitely that. Enjoy!

if this picture is yours, let me know so I can credit you.

By the way, don't forget to vote in the April Picture of the Month Poll. I'll leave it for a few more days before I post the results. http://andernation.blogspot.com/2008/05/april-picture-of-month-poll.html

Talk About Things

Although many of us are tired of all the talk about politics, I was kind of into it tonight. Did you catch Anderson's comment, "that's what we do on cable television, we talk about things!" I loved it! I also liked the mix of contributors tonight, neither side was overly weighted for one candidate or the other. I didn't mind Lanny Davis, but I noticed many others did. Paul Begala is good. He is a Clinton supporter, but doesn't seem to annoy people. Maybe it's the way he injects humor into his commentary that helps.

One thing I don't understand on the election, why does John King keep splitting the West Virginia vote 65/35? Obama doesn't have 35, he only has 29! I'm so confused.

Now for those of you who are ready for a new challenge, here's a new puzzle. http://www.jigzone.com/puzzles/83139D0E588?m=D025092D44.71181A2&z=6

Mother's Day Sunday

A down-in-the-dumps Friday was bad enough, but then it got worse; no Anderson on AC360. I wonder if he's on his way to Burma, spring allergies got the best of him, or he's spending the weekend celebrating Mother's day with his mom. Maybe I should try and look on the bright side, at least now I can get some extra work done around the house. If I don't get my gardening done now when the weather is nice and cool, I'll never get it done once it's humid and unbearably hot. Frankly though, I'd rather watch Anderson.

For all of you out there lucky enough to be moms, I hope you are having a very Happy Mother's Day. Enjoy your babies, whether they be young or old, small or full grown. To a mom, her children will always be their babies; whether we like it or not!

I hope Anderson and his mom, Gloria Vanderbilt are having a nice day together. We thank her for sharing her son with us. He has brought a great deal into our lives and brightens our days considerably. We thank her for having two great sons and for sharing one of them with us.

All of us, moms or not, can use a little eye candy; so here's a puzzle. I will have to postpone the picture of the week since Photobucket is not letting me in. They recommended we change our password and now I can't access my account. I will post it as soon as possible.

Happy Mother's Day

Picture of the Week 5/04/2008

Once again it's time for the picture of the week. Unfortunately, photobucket was not cooperating, so couldn't post the picture of the week last night. I'm sure you'll forgive me for the lateness once you see it, it's a real jewel! hehe! I don't know who to credit it to so if it's yours, let me know. Wherever it came from, it's a beautiful picture and we really, really thank you! Enjoy!

Pick on Anderson Day?

Was yesterday “pick on Anderson day” or something? Every fan blog I’ve looked at as been critical. What’s up with that? I personally don’t get it; he spoke at Tulane University Tuesday night, and instead of taking the night off, he did the show from New Orleans. He gave the extra effort, but he certainly didn’t get any gratitude. Anyone else would have just made their appearance and spent the rest of the evening having a good time. Not Anderson. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like too many of us appreciated it.

I haven’t heard anything about his speech. Usually someone tells about their experience on one of the blogs. Anderson, however, is probably thrilled. It must be disconcerting every time you meet someone or make an appearance to see it spelled out in detail on the internet. We mean no harm. It’s just that it’s such a thrill to meet him; and when you are that happy, you want to share it. For those of us who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him, it is nice for us that people are willing to share. It makes us feel like we were there. I sure wish I could’ve been there.

Now let’s get to the good stuff. Thanks to Sahira we have a ton of yummy Anderson pics. For those of you who said you needed a pretty picture to cheer you up, here ya go. Enjoy!

Picture of the Week 4/27/2008

Is it just me or do the weekends seem longer when Anderson is off? After 2 days without him, I thought we could use a smile, so I picked a picture where he's smiling. Hope it holds us until Monday. Enjoy!

Anderless Friday

I am feeling totally uninspired at the moment. So I will curl up on the couch in front of the television and leave you a puzzle so you don't forget what Anderson looks like. Hopefully he won't be gone too long. Or did we already pass that point? Good luck with the puzzle.

Picture of the Week 4/13/08

Time for another picture of the week; well, it is a bit late. I could stare at this forever. Can this man even take a bad photo? He kind of looks like he's tired of waiting. What he's waiting for, I have no idea. Love the photo anyway. Enjoy!

AnderPuzzles and Saturday Frustrations

Please don't string me up to teach me a lesson, I know I didn't post the puzzle last night. I was having computer problems again and couldn't get online. I'll give you two tonight to make up for it. Deal? I hope so.

Today has been a lousy day. I thought things were all worked out and I had someone to do yard work for me. It's overwhelming and there is no way I could do it all by myself. I just wonder if Anderson has bettter luck with his contractor than I've had so far with my gardener. She came to the door and told my Mom she worked for 5 hours and that comes to $50. Looking out the window, the yard looked messier than it had to begin with. Instead of the mulch being limited to the flower beds and hiding the flowers, they were all over the lawn. The broken tree branches were in the middle of the carport. I love company and welcome it whenever anyone decides to show up. However, they better not visit now because their parking area is now covered with tree branches. Help!!! I am terrible at telling people off and what to do, and as a result may end up paying way more than what I thought I needed to. Besides that, there goes having help for the rest of the summer when it's hot and I really need the help.

Sorry for the rant. In case you didn't notice, I get really crabby when I miss Anderson. Here are the puzzles I promised you. http://www.jigzone.com/puzzles/A9138E353EA?m=D025092D44.71181A2&z=6

Declaration of Love

Why do people have so much trouble saying "I love you"? Why do we wait until it's too late? Too late to be together, too late because they are gone - either geographically or physically, or too late because the other has moved on. I was watching Charmed, as usual. It was heartwrenching; Andy and Prue finally said the magic words. Those three little words that mean so much but are said so seldom. What is sad is that the event that moved them to declare their love was the knowledge that Andy was in imminent danger. No surprise, at the end of the episode Andy had died.

Okay, I know I've seen this episode many, many times and I know a week ahead of time what's going to happen. But it makes me cry each and every time.

Enough yammering and on to some Andernews. In the May issue of Outside magazine, Anderson's interview with Patrick Symmes appears along with a great photo of Anderson on the cover and the following quote, "How one smart risk can change your life". I would imagine Anderson is referring to his taking off to a war zone with a press pass created on a friend's apple computer. Obviously, that was a great risk; and we all know how it started his very successful career as a journalist, author, and anchor. On the website, the article is promoted with the cover shot of Anderson with this quote underneath the pic, "My sense of what's dangerous is completely warped. People have stopped asking me for advice, because I encourage people to go anywhere." It sounds like me when people ask if the roads are bad in the winter! In Anderson's case, it is easy to see how risks can lead to great rewards. From personal experience, it is also good advice when you think back on risks you refused to take and have wondered ever since, "what if?" What if I had tried? What if I had found the nerve to approach that person or verbalized my feelings? It is sad to spend your life regretting roads not taken, risks not taken, and wondering how things might have turned out differently. On the other hand, I can't stop thinking about the woman with the 6 bags looking for Anderson at his place. She took a risk and look what happened. She ended up a fill in joke on Regis & Kelly. Let's hope that's the worse that happened. I just hope she in very familiar with New York City. I would hate to think what could happen to a small town girl lost in the big apple with a broken heart, broken dreams, and no one to care and nowhere to go.

Either you've all become addicted to the puzzles and stopped commenting or you've found something to pass the time while Anderson is away. Day Three :(

Usually they call Wednesday over the hump day. But since it's an Anderless week, I say we are no way near getting over the hump. The hump is worse than climbing Mt. Everest. Of course, maybe we'll get lucky and he will be back tonight. He did come back on a Wednesday after his surgery. Okay, give me a break! Sometimes you have to grasp at straws. Whatever works to get ya through.

Sorry I'm so late in posting, but here's your new puzzle. He looks as sad as I feel!

Day Two of No Anderson

Hey Folks, hope you had a good day. It was really pretty here today. We got a good glimpse of spring. It's supposed to hang around for a few days, sunny and highs in the low 60's. Then when we used to walking around in shorts and working in the garden, it will turn cold and snow. Really, I'm not joking. That's the forecast, cold with rain and snow for the weekend. I hate rain and snow together.
I took advantage of the nice weather this evening and went out and raked the leaves. I felt sorry for the poor little crocus plants. Now they can bloom without having dusty, dirty, dry leaves poking them in the face. I missed the snowdrops this year, they are pretty much done. They bloom so early I usually miss them, and they are way too small to look at from the house.

Picture of the Week 4/06/08

Another week has passed so it's time again for our special of the week Anderpicture and puzzle. I noticed Anderson ended the program with a "have a great weekend", but no "see you Monday". So if we end up with an Anderless week, I'll try to post a new puzzle everyday. I suppose we could spend the extra two hours we have exercising in honor of Anderson's boycott of Kelly's exercise segment! Anderson could consider himself lucky, at least belly dancing wasn't part of their fitness repertoire! In case you missed his appearance or the first 15 minutes like I did, here's the link to his stalker story, if you have the stomach for it that is. I warn you, you many find it disturbing. I mean it may get to the point where he won't even say hello to anyone and you'll hate to even think about approaching him and finally getting to meet him if you haven't done so up till now. Anyways, here it is if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pcSVu2ZoCM

Picture of the Week 3/29/2008

Sorry to be so late with the picture of the week but blogger was being temperamental last night. At 4:00 AM I gave up. I also have another puzzle for you. Enjoy!

So another dismal Saturday has come and gone. It's cold and gloomy here. It seems Mother Nature either is suffering from PMS or is bipolar. She can't decide if it's winter or spring; so we alternate from one to the other. I love winter, but I hate this back and forth. I would like a little sunshine please. Speaking of sunshine, wasn't Anderson great Friday night on AC360? What was going on with that guy from Time Magazine? He said something about "you can only bring it up in non-polite company, which is how I consider you," what was that all about?? Anderson not polite? Au contraire!! Also, many thanks to Erica for bringing about an amazing Anderson belly laugh. He has the best laugh in the world. No Anderson, it is not, I repeat "not annoying"!

I don't even want to mention Wal-Mart and their despicable behavior. I think they should be the new "they who shall not be named". I think a boycott is an excellent idea. I've read on the blog how so many say they can't afford to shop elsewhere. Other than the prescriptions and a few items here and there, the one near me isn't that cheap. Their grocery prices are downright ridiculous. It's cheaper to go the regular grocery store or wherever they have sales. Anyway, they should be ashamed of themselves. I hope Anderson keeps on this story and maybe eventually they will be shamed into doing the right thing. What scares me most is if she has to go on welfare and stay in a nursing home paid by medicaid. I've had relatives stay in one of those and it's horrible. They are extremely understaffed and their treatment borders on neglect. Now for some sunshine to end this post; the picture of the week and a new Anderpuzzle for your Sunday afternoon.

Happy Easter

While on the subject of Regis & Kelly, remember when Anderson was mixing the meatloaf? Well, I sure could've used those large, skillful hands the last couple of days. Two things my hands were not made for; playing the piano and kneading bread dough. The image of Anderson easily mixing all that ground meat popped into my mind as I was struggling with the dough for the Easter bread and nut rolls. Finally, with Mom's help, I got it all done. Everything from the colored eggs, to the Easter cheese and little lamby butter was packed into the Easter basket and blessed. Thankfully, the priest was nice enough to bless it at home since we didn't have anyone this year to haul it to the church for us.

It's a really sad Easter this year since we didn't get any company. I don't know about all of you, but to me it's not a holiday unless you have a house full of relatives. It's extra nice if kids are included. Most of our egg hunts have been indoors since more often than not it's too cold outside, even if we don't have any snow. This year we had sleet, but just a little.

Since I didn't know at the time that no one was coming home, I bought a heap of Easter candy. Every kind imaginable, except for candy corn. Not that I don't like it, I just didn't see it anywhere and I forgot about it. Maybe I'll just hop on over to UPS and ship my nieces an Easter basket. I bought mystery books for Mom so she will have something to read while she munches on her Peppermint Patty, peanut butter cups, marshmallow peeps, clear toy, and coconut bon bons. Remember how they always talk about sitting around and eating bon bons? I think it's sort of like "ladies that do lunch"! So for a day or two we can live like a princess, reading a book and eating bon bons. Surprisingly, I even found rock candy. Mom always talked about rock candy. Now I finally found some. Don't tell, but I already stole a rock or two to try it. Was good!I have to admit I was kind of bummed out that I had to buy my own coconut Easter egg. What's even worse, I had to buy kisses too. The kind wrapped in pastel foil as in Hershey kisses. I bet I had you wondering 'bout that one!

Hope everyone and Anderson has a nice Easter surrounded by all your loved ones.

Here is an Easter treat for you: http://www.jigzone.com/puzzles/F71348EAE44
