Anderson Blogs: Disaster in Burma
Anderson blogged this afternoon about the cyclone in Burma, now known as Myanmar. Apparently he is still waiting for his visa so he can get in to report on the disaster, as are the numerous aid agencies. I have the strange feeling the government isn't going to let anyone in. This storm has played right into their hands. It has killed two birds with one stone, so to speak. The reporters who want to let the world now how the government in treating its citizens can't get in and many of the anti-government protesters may have been killed. Those whose lives were spared will be too busy trying to survive and won't have the time or inclination to protest. To read Anderson's blog, just follow the link: http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/07/what-exactly-is-happening-in-burma/
There are also a couple of other blogs on Burma as well. You can access those from the main page of the blog or from the link below: http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/category/cyclone/
