You simply asked something.

People have to eat something to stay alive, so I have no choice to eat vegetables, fruit, etc. I gave up on meat/poltrey, etc. because it was the best I could do.

I am glad you agree with me re: the wearing of fur. There is no
excuse for it. None.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155241540961922762006-08-10T15:25:00.000-05:002006-08-10T15:25:00.000-05:00Van: Thanks for your insight. I do have a question for you, feel free to not answer if you don't want to.

Why not any food related to animal products? I mean vegetables are grown using pestisides, which in turn kill smaller animals, and well plants are also living as well. Why just meat? I'm just curious, hope you don't take it the wrong way :)Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15073679251029043174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155219359598638112006-08-10T09:15:00.000-05:002006-08-10T09:15:00.000-05:00I have been a vegetarian for 20 years now because ...I have been a vegetarian for 20 years now because of animals (not
health reasons), but it does not offend me when others eat meat. I do wish they would not eat from factory farms. What does bother me is the wearing of fur. I cannot
abide that. It is cruel and I like to say, if you can watch a video about how the fur got on your back, then feel free to wear it. It's not beautiful.

Having said that, I was a member of PETA for many years, but due to their extremism, no longer support them or contribute to them. They have gone too far in many ways.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155144844671109942006-08-09T12:34:00.000-05:002006-08-09T12:34:00.000-05:00II<3 AC: I'm not sure if P.A know that or not. which is another thing, so many celebs buy into this, maybe b/c they really care about animals, or just for publicity which helps target younger children even more.Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15073679251029043174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155144552101793842006-08-09T12:29:00.001-05:002006-08-09T12:29:00.001-05:00Anon 10:35: I agree Peta was a good idea, but the...Anon 10:35: I agree Peta was a good idea, but they have gone too far. There are many other legit organizations out there. Ingrid Newkirk was on MSNBC last night talking about the events in China and althought she made some good points about it, but I really do believe they should be showing Peta for what they really are.

I eat meat, b/c I know the benefits of eating meat [and to anon 8:32pm I understand your reasoning behind health reasons :) ] and to be called a "cannabal" and anit-animal rights offends me personally. I love animals, I have a dog (which is against Peta standards) and I love him with all my heart, I want to work with animals, and educate the world on wildlife conservation, yet Peta wont look past the fact that I eat meat and drink milk.

okay.. i'll stop now lol

Thank you to everyone that has posted their opinions! :)Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15073679251029043174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155144541819449962006-08-09T12:29:00.000-05:002006-08-09T12:29:00.000-05:00wow! Out of respect for her, I refrain from voicing my opinion on PETA. I, like you, do not support them in any way, shape or form. Animal cruelty is wrong, fur I believe is wrong, but that doesn't make threatening people or their families okay because they work in medical labs that use rats. It doesn't make the use of violence or scare tactics okay to get your point across. PETA has a file open in the FBI because of their support of the ELF and the ALF and their open support of violent tactics. PETA is a good idea. Too bad the top ranks are psycho.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155101048218521492006-08-09T00:24:00.000-05:002006-08-09T00:24:00.000-05:00Pretty sad that they put 6 billions chickens being...Pretty sad that they put 6 billions chickens being slaughtered for food on the same page as 6 million people dying in concentration camps. I can't see how saying that would gain them any members. May be it's just me, but those two items should never be compared.

We are animals, we are at the top of the food chain. We also breed and raise our own food. If it wasn't for us, those 6 billion chickens would have never had a life to begin with.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21838739.post-1155087152831741682006-08-08T20:32:00.000-05:002006-08-08T20:32:00.000-05:00I'm glad to see someone telling the truth about PE...I'm glad to see someone telling the truth about PETA. I'm with you - the only thing I agree with them on is animal cruelty is wrong. And I am anti-fur. But I do believe they go WAY too far. I used to call them terrorists, but in light of world events today I try not to do that so as not to make light of it.

If they truly believe humans are just other animals, don't they realise that we are at the top of the food chain? Or do they want all animals to be vegetarian? (I don't eat meat but for health reasons, not moral ones).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
